Wei Jiang, Ph.D. is a Professor at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). She received her B.Eng. degree in Pharmaceutical Engineering from Hefei University of Technology in 2014 and her Ph.D. degree in Polymer Chemistry and Physics from USTC in 2019. She then continued her postdoctoral training at USTC and later served as an Associate Research Fellow at the First Affiliated Hospital of USTC before joining USTC as a faculty member in 2026.

Her research centers on drug delivery, biomaterials, and mRNA therapeutics, with a particular interest in how delivery systems interact with vascular and tissue barriers in vivo. By combining functional polymer- and lipid-based carriers with intravital imaging, her group aims to uncover the biological mechanisms that govern nanomedicine transport and to translate these insights into more efficient organ- and cell-targeted delivery strategies. A major focus of her current work is the development of precision mRNA delivery systems for therapeutic applications.

She published 26 peer-reviewed papers, including first- or corresponding-author studies in Science, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Biomedical Engineering, Journal of the American Chemical Society, and Angewandte Chemie International Edition. She has also filed 12 patents, 7 of which have been granted.

Her research has been supported by the NSFC Young Scientists Fund (Category B), NSFC General Programs, the CAS Young Talent Program, the Young Elite Scientists Sponsorship Program by CAST, the Anhui Provincial Excellent Young Scientists Fund, and the CAS Strategic Priority Research Program.
